The Benefits of Team Building Games and Activities at Quest Adventure Camp

Most of the inquiries we get here at the Quest Adventure Camp ask us this question: “What team building activities do you offer?”

We offer different rope courses and Adventure Tower, the most thrilling powerhouse of our team building activities. We recognize that team building is more than just a corporate activity; team building is an event to improve team productivity and efficiency by molding the team as a whole.

While we mean to keep things a secret to build anticipation for our participants, we want to share how our team building courses can help you and your group build through play.

Team Building Activities: Not Just Fun and Games

Some companies see team building as a “sorry excuse” to skip a day’s worth of work; however, we beg to disagree. While it seems like your employees are having the time of their lives, there are things that cannot be taught within the workplace.

People have different learning habits. While some effectively learn through lectures, seminars, or just by reading a book, “experience” still is the best teacher. Experience is far more effective in inculcating values than teaching it in a typical classroom setting.

Choosing a team building venue can be quite tricky; some venues offer the same activities, making team building activities rather cliché. Teams, clubs, and organizations are looking for something exciting or unusual — the old ‘trust fall’ won’t cut it anymore.

Team Building Benefits

Team building is not all fun and games; it teaches us, builds us through play. Here are the benefits of engaging in team building activities here at the Quest Adventure Camp:

rope course

15 Station Mango and 13 Station Gemilina Rope Courses

These are low rope courses that require minimal supervision while traversing each obstacle. Read on to know more how rope obstacle courses can help you and your team during the team building activities.

15 Station Mango Rope Course

Our 15-element low rope course built under the cool shade of mango trees has been thoroughly enjoyed as a warm up activity by our participants.

A low ropes course is perhaps the easiest obstacle course in the camp. It is a ground-based activity course designed to “loosen up” the participants as they ease through the course. As participants begin to be accustomed to each other, trust starts to set in. You will notice that their self-consciousness wanes, and they start to get to know better. Participants are challenged beyond their comfort zone — they are encouraged to cooperate better with their corresponding teams.

Aside from being an ice-breaker activity, ground-based activities like our 15 Station Mango Rope Course help foster group initiative to conquer a task. Simple tasks that calls for problem-solving skills require group participation. Low rope courses make them work together towards a common goal.

13 Station Gemilina Rope Course

Most of our participants mention that our 13-element Gemilina is indeed challenging than the 15 Station Mango Rope Course.

As trust is being built through the obstacle rope course, they begin to follow each other, trust each other through the different stations. On a personal level, everyone’s physical and mental ability is tested throughout the course. Channeling their inner ninja skills, they will go through each course discovering their capabilities, and overcoming their limitations in the process.

Going through tough challenges develops self-confidence, communication skills, leadership skills, and the ability to make decisions in a high-risk setting. As they manage through the courses together as a team, they develop cooperation and social cohesion. The results of these activities carry over once they return to the workplace — breaking the barrier that separates each member of the team is the primary goal of these obstacle courses.

The Adventure Tower

The Adventure Tower is the ultimate obstacle course in Quest Adventure Camp. The Adventure Tower has seven exciting challenges to try out; we’ll give you a glimpse of our four main obstacles here:

adventure tower

Zip Line – Fly across two Rizal municipalities (Teresa to Morong) with this elevated ride. There are surprising health benefits when you try out this thrilling ride. You get to breathe in Rizal’s fresh air as you fly across the line! Since it takes you a tremendous amount of effort to reach the launch point, you actually burn more calories. Plus, ziplining reduces stress and increases self-esteem; finally reaching the top and to scream at the top of your lungs help release your happy hormones, making it a stress-relieving activity for you and your teammates.

Akyat Bahay Wall (Only here in Quest) – Have you dreamt of traversing through different courses ala Spiderman? Want to test you ninja skills? Climb up this vertical obstacle course, traversing through doors, windows, cargo nets and tires. Truly unique adventure, only in Quest Adventure Camp. Your

Wall Climb – Test your strength and stamina through the wall climbing course. Choose between the Basic and Advanced climbing wall and reach the top of the 12-meter adventure climb. Wall climbing helps test your problem-solving skills, as you try to climb your way to the top. As an extra, you get to work out your core muscles and your endurance as well — a 12-meter climb is no joke!

Rappel – After climbing the 12-meter wall, conquer your fear of heights as you rappel down 12 meters of this challenge wall. In a study conducted by Harvard Health Publications, they found out that a 155-pound person can burn around 818 calories hourly during a wall climb ascent and 596 calories while rappelling. Going through the wall climb and rappelling course will burn a total of 1,414 calories — that’s 7 cups of rice less in one round, folks!

Sounds fun and challenging, right? Here at Quest Adventure Camp, we design these obstacle courses with our participants’ benefits and safety in mind. We make sure that our mantra, “Build Through Play”, will resonate through every activity in the camp. We will help you improve your team’s leadership skills, thwart the barriers that separates your team by helping to identify each individual strengths and weaknesses, and overall improve organizational productivity through our play experience.
