Team Building Activities for Big Teams With 100 Plus Members

Do you want to do a team building activity but the size of your organization is a challenge?

Team building activities are essential for organizations small or big. A team that works well with each other are generally more productive, and successful. Therefore, team building activities a great way to connect with one another and work with each other better.

But finding the right set of exercises can be daunting ‒ especially for bigger teams. You have to look for activities that everyone feels comfortable and safe doing. That’s why we’ve put together a list that helps develop communications and problem-solving skills as well as to let everyone in the organization know each other a little bit more.

Here is our list of the ultimate team building activities to help everyone learn, laugh, connect, and have fun.

Spider Web Challenge

The goal of this whole challenge is for everyone on the team to travel through the web. However, what makes it tricky is that each time a team member comes in contact with the web, they’ll have to restart the challenge again. Each member must also pass through it without using the same gap twice, as each hole can only be used once. For example, if a team member has successfully traveled through one hole, it will already be closed off for the remainder of the activity.

While completing this activity, participants must not break the guidelines. Nothing should touch any part of the web ‒ including any piece of a team member’s clothing. Using other equipment while performing this activity is not allowed as well. Each team must also finish the challenge safely. Otherwise, they risk of starting all over again. Through this game, members learn to develop cooperation, trust, problem-solving, leadership, decision making, and communication.

Foosball Tournament

Teams can have fun showcasing their skills through a competitive foosball tournament. Everyone is usually divided into brackets of groups. During the match, the best teams usually advance to the next round. For a team to score, teamwork and communication are critical. It also teaches groups to adapt to a continually changing environment. They must also learn to set up a plan, have a clear goal as a team, and communicate effectively to win. As the game intensifies, co-workers can become friends. Creating strong relationships can build a solid foundation for potential projects down the road.

Scavenger Hunt

Another excellent team building activity that everyone will enjoy and will encourage them to collaborate more efficiently is the Scavenger Hunt. It’s a favorite activity in most company team buildings because it promotes creativity and teamwork in both non-related and inter-functional teams.

Everyone is divided into groups. The organizers then give them a list of things that they should find and complete in a given time limit. The team that wins is the first group that accomplishes everything on the list wins. Organizers can also make it even more exciting by adding riddles, twists and mind-blowing clues that eventually lead up to the final item.

Swimming Pool Relay

Swimming Pool Relay can be a competitive icebreaker requiring participants to get physical by using their various body parts to transport water only by using a sponge. Everyone is usually split into pairs and will receive an instruction from the facilitator on which body part they’ll just be using (shoulder, palms, elbows, knees, and so on) Then, each member must attempt to squeeze the water on the sponge by only using the stated body part into the container. They’re not allowed to touch or move the bottle either. The first team who reaches the given height set by the facilitator wins.

The Mine Field

The Mine Field is a game that builds effective communication and trust. Set in an open area, participants in this game operate in pairs. One member is usually blindfolded and cannot talk (optional), the other can both see and speak. Now, there will be “mines” such as balls, cones, pins, etc. The blindfolded teammate must navigate their way across this route ‒ picking up toys and avoid stepping on mines solely relying on their teammate’s instructions. This highly engaging game help foster trust, communication, and active listening.
